A catalog for the exhibition "Wigs & Gloves - Performances in a Diversity of Gender" has been produced for photographer Julia Gaes. Thematically, the motifs range between drag, burlesque, queerlesque, vaudeville, cabaret, circus, belly dance and acrobatics. The chosen book format corresponds to the aspect ratio of a polaroid. Focusing on this medium creates a retro-nostalgic mood. This is taken up by the choice of material, velvet and can also be found in the exhibition set-up. The embossed typographical title including blind embossing picks up the form of the polaroid again and creates a haptically exciting experience through the use of velvet as a material.
